AFFORDABLE Accelerated Programs, or those with good fin. aid?!

Published

Hi Everyone,

So, I'm looking at accelerated programs for Spring 2011, but the cost is so daunting! At this point, I'm pretty much willing to move ANYWHERE in the U.S. for school, as long as it's cheap! So I thought I could start this thread, maybe we can all post affordable programs that we know of to help each other out.

So far I've just got:

The Washington Scholars Program at Georgetown (80% of tuition paid)

The Universidad Interamericana in Puerto Rico is supposed to have a very affordable program, but the website is in Spanish, so maybe an option for those who can speak it? (my Spanish is awful :)

Also, I've heard that Pace in New York had a 100% tuition paid program with HHC in exchange for a work commitment--does anyone know if that's still going on?

Well, I'll post more as I find them. Please post what you know of!

Georgia State University is pretty affordable.

But if you were to move from another state then it would not end up being affordable since you would be charged out of state tuition.

Yes, instate tuition would def. be the cheapest option. It's just that my situation is a little different--I've moved around ALOT and am currently living overseas, and I don't think that I actually qualify for instate tuition anywhere :crying2:

Emory University has the Fuld Scholarship that pays full tuition. Not sure how many of those they award each year though. My guess is very few. Candidates must show strong commitment to social responsibility and want to work with under served communities.

They also have the NEAT program that pays 50% of tuition for 2 yrs work commitment. For me 50% off is not attractive enough since the tuition is about 35K per year, but I don't know what affordable is to others.

I live in Westchester and I have heard not to great things about Pace. However, I think that program with HHC was only funded for three years and I am not sure if they are still doing it.

UPENN has a program and they give financial aid because it is a BS degree.
