Hi
i work on a unit for over 3 years and very happy. My contract states can be moved within 40 miles from my work base. Now they hired 2 new nurses and told us that 1 or 2 nurses will need to relocated to make room for them . Very upset should I sit down with my manager and state my case. Thinking of leaving
Just me.

Is your home base where they do training? Will these nurses be asked to move after they have done training?
Even though it is in your contract, it doesn't hurt to talk it over with the manager...Does everyone have this in their contract.
Just curious how the training works, since the new nurses could have been asked to go to the different location., or is tough for the place you work to hire?

It won’t hurt to sit down with your manager but you really don’t have a leg to stand on so I would keep any drama to the minimum. You accepted the contract so you knew it was a possibility. It sucks but you likely have no choice and you certainly don’t have a “case”. Sorry this is happening. I’m sure it’s very upsetting.
