ADVICE PLEASE

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I go to a community college.

I have a 3.25 GPA

But I only have 11 credits completed

I didn't realize I wanted to do nursing at the time and didnt take it as seriously as I should. I'm aiming for a 4.0 every semester now and I'm sure it could go up higher but do you think my current GPA is gonna hurt me I mean I'm pretty early on here.

I don't plan on applying into the nursing program until 2014. And I'm currently taking CNA classes I'm gonna work part time as a CNA while in school.

Can you give me any advice at all about what I need to do or just random advice? THANKS

You need to aim for A's in your remaining classes and increase your GPA.

Stick to your plan of getting As and you should be fine, 11 credits really isn't that much, and 3.2 isn't terrible.

Your GPA isn't bad so it won't affect you much. Like you said, you're still early in your education. Just really hunker down and be weary of every point possible that you can earn. It's going to be very stressful, but remember to also take time for yourself so you don't explode one day. Slow and steady wins the race.

Your GPA is decent, but just get all A's. Most schools want you to have at least a 3.0, but really that means try for a 3.5 and above to be seen as a competitive applicant.

Aim for A's in all prerequisite classes and the highest grade you can get in all other classes. Possibly take some easy classes to raise your GPA. Consider retaking or petitioning to remove any classes you got a D or F in. Good Luck!
