Advice Needed!

Long story short, I am a newly licensed RN looking for my first position in psychiatric mental-health nursing. There are a number of jobs I want to apply to ASAP, but I currently only have one written letter of recommendation. So I have a few questions regarding the situation.

Should I go ahead and apply, and possibly go into interviews with that one letter?

Should I continue to wait and keep trying to get a second letter from my previous nursing faculty?

Can I use one letter from a clinical professor (the one I already have), and a second letter from a previous employer? This would be from a veterinarian.

Thanks so much in advance for everyone's input.

Well, in my career, I've only applied to maybe, one or two places that even required letters of recommendation. I've applied to MANY MANY different places. MANY.

Do most places in your area require, like, 2-3 letters of recommendation?

It sounds to me like you have plenty to go on. I would use the letter you have from the professor, and the letter from the previous employer, and start applying.

Good luck!

Go ahead and apply to whatever you want. Many places don't require a letter of recommendation . I just needed names of references. Best of luck.

I've never used a letter of reference. Just listed references.
