Advice needed please

I am a new grad and I have been offered a job in the CCU and the MICU. I am really having a hard time making up my mind. I always thought CCU was just cardiac stuff but at my interview they assured me that they see all types of patients. Any advice or opinions on working in these two units?

I would ask you to honestly answer two questions for yourself,

Are you a good critical thinker? Meaning can you put the data together and get a picture of what is going on with someone and what the next step should be?

Are you confident in your ability and able to act quickly?

Then I would ask how long orientation is for a new grad? You should also ask who would be your preceptor and ask to meet them and see if you feel like they are someone you could work with.

If all of these factors are met with good resolve then hey working CCU is great, but I am big proponent for finding your niche.

What is your career goal or what do you 'see' yourself doing in 3 years?
