ADN Program challenge exam...

I graduated from my local comm. college as an LPN in 2007. I took the NCLEX-PN in 2008 & got my license, which is active. But I have been a stay at home mom since then, and haven't really worked much at all so I could be home with my kids. My kids are getting older though, and I want to return to my comm. college to finish my RN degree. I need only two more nursing classes at that college to be an RN. At that college once you're an LPN, students take two more nursing courses and bridge over to the RN. The college has a rule however, if you have been out of nursing school 3 or more years, and haven't worked in that amount of time as an LPN, you must take a challenge exam to be accepted in to the RN bridge portion. Well, lucky me hasn't worked in the last 3 years, and it looks like I'm going to have to attempt this exam to get it. It's written & clinical. I'm assuming the written portion covers the first two semesters of nursing school which I've already had, and the clinical is probably trach care, starting an IV, etc. I just don't know anyone from my college that's actually taken it. If I don't take the exam I can work one full year, then re-apply and would get in. I just don't want to wait another couple of years to go to RN school... I'm so ready to get it over with. Any other LPN's been in a similar situation? Anyone ever took one of the challenge exams? I'm sure they are very difficult...

What school are you at?? I had to take an 'entrance exam' to get into my bridge program even though I have been working. It was basically on Fundamentals and Transitions...it was just like taking the NCLEX tho..pretty challenging I must say!!
