2014 ADN program for CFCC

Has anyone got back their scores for their PSB? I guess they decided not to take 180 students this semester and still only 70!

Hope I get in!

Hey Ryan!

Yes I applied to RIBN and understand the differences between the two programs. I just wondered what other students thought. I had not realized the RIBN program was the same nursing curriculum, etc as ADN. I have A&P 1&2 left for pre-req's so if I don't manage to get in at least one this summer, fall semester will be tough. RIBN is the program I prefer bc nursing classes will start about the same time by daughter starts kindergarten. I wasn't prepared to be accepted into ADN honestly but I'm glad I did. Hopefully I get into RIBN though. There were only 22 applicants this year and I scored on the higher end if the score range from last year so we shall see!

Hey Ryan! How is nursing school going? I got into both ADN and RIBN but chose to take RIBN spot. Hope your first year is going well! What is your schedule like?

Hi jpsunkissed and golferguync,

I am currently getting ready to apply to the RIBN program and might apply to the ADN program. Any tips or tricks for taking the PSB test? How are you liking the program?

Hey BioChick23,

I got accepted to the Fall 2014 cohort for the RIBN program and am in my second semester of the first year (start nursing classes fall of 2015). The PSB was pretty easy. I think the hardest parts were the spelling and science (only because I hadn't taken a science class in forever). For the spelling I would recommend reviewing your spelling rules. Also, if you look at the answers for spelling and one just looks right....go with your gut. I way over prepared for the math section but I really don't know how to tell you to prepare for it because it was pretty basic. As far as the program goes it has been a lot like a regular semester. There isn't a lot to do the first year of the program other than take classes. There are a couple get togethers but I haven't been able to make them because of work. I'm so excited to start nursing classes in the fall! Let us know how you did.

Hi KatieOwens! I took my PSB so I'm just waiting for point counts and such. Fingers crossed. Do you know about how many ppl apply to the RIBN program? Whenever I talk about it ppl never seem to know about it.

Last year when I applied there were 39 I believe!

Oh wow! 39 ppl for 10 spots ... fingers crossed I'm in the top ten! :saint:

I can tell you my PSB scores if you think that will help you gauge whether or not you will get in!

My scores were not as high as yours. Did you also get 50 points for previous classes taken?

No, last year they did it solely on the PSB score. I wish they had given us points for classes taken, that would have been great!

Don't stress too much because it really depends on how big the applicant pool is and most people going into nursing don't even know about RIBN because it is still so new.
