Yes, I think wait lists are pretty common

I graduated from an ADN program in Dallas, and I actually don't think they have waiting lists... you just have to reapply every semester.

Kristin is correct. The ADN programs in the metroplex require prospective students to reapply each application period. Most of the programs use a type of points systems (though it is different for each program) that stacks applicants based on GPA, pre-requisite courses completed, and scores on entrance tests. Some students apply several times before getting in and some students get in on their first try. Many people apply to multiple programs at the same time in the hopes of gaining entry to at least one.
thanks =)

Where are you looking at wanting to go to school at? I am in east Texas and even though we have a lot of people applying to the ADN program I am in, there isn't a waiting list. They start over each semester.

Where in east Texas are you neighbor lol. Are you anywhere near Tyler? I am in Garland, a suburb of Dallas.
Hi coolpeach,
Yes, we are pretty much neighbors!! I do live in Tyler. Do you know of it? I was born in Irving, right down the road from the Stadium! Go 'Boyz!!! Of course they are winning in their preseason game right now!!
Where are you going to school at? I am going to TJC, with the intent of continuing on at UT Tyler for my Master's.
I am applying to Brookhaven's 2 year in Sept, and if not accepted will reapply in Jan. I am also applying to El Centro's LVN program in Jan as a plan B. As for my masters I am torn between Baylor or trying to do the whole thing online.
I had a friend growing up and her grandma lived in Tyler. I would go with her to visit on some weekends.
I have talked to several ladies down here who say they are apply up there, and plan to make the drive. I am not sure if its true or wishful thanking, but they believe because its a smaller town there is less of a wait to get in. I can't imagine having to make the drive to and from three or more times week.
