Adn - Crna

I recently spoke with a NP who said there were some very good ADN-CRNA programs out there. I think CAL State Fullerton was one.

Anyone know of any more?

Thoughts on these programs?

I don't think you (or the NP) have your information correct. There are 3 Nurse Anesthesia programs in California and although Kaiser Permanente/Cal State is one of them, the very first prerequisite requirement listed on their website is a baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN). That tells me there is no ADN-CRNA track at Cal State.

I also hate to break the bad news:sniff: but there are no ADN- CRNA tracks in the US since one of the requirements for admission to a nurse anesthesia program is from the Council on Accreditation (COA) is a BSN or "other appropriate baccalaureate degree". So get cracking on a baccalaureate!:wink2: Best wishes and good luck!

There are, however, some good ADN-MSN programs (which grant a BSN along the way). But as far as I know, none in anesthesia.

There are some programs that grant MS degrees which require a BS or BSN. The MSN programs are going to require a BSN. Look up MTSA. A MS degree means no fluff nursing courses like nursing theory.

I do nt knwo of any who are ADRN to CRNA programs due to the necessity of a Bachelors... now the difference is SOME schools will take a Bachelors AND and RN - not just a BSN as prereqs.

Texas has 3 CRNA programs 2 in Fort Worth and 1 in San Antonio- although I think the San Antonio is the Army training program.

Continue to talk to any and all who you know though. Because they'll let you know their path and most CRNAs' paths are similar but different training.. IE all have some sort of critical care (could be high rate acute care ERs) but some are Nuero, some are CVICU, some are CCU etc... all adult care. Although I am sure there are exceptions. and once there is an exception - that could then become the rule

Actually, Texas has FIVE programs, two in Fort Worth (Tx Wesleyan, TCU), the Army program in San Antonio, and two in Houston (UT, Baylor).
