Admissions Packet

I am beginning to put together my packets for a couple nursing programs. I have a few choices to make. Hope someone can help me out!

Should I attach my school resume with my packet? There is no objective statement, just my past experience and a little about my extracurricular activities I wasnt able to state on my app.

The checklist says "100 word essay" My finished essay is 270 words. Does anyone think this will be a problem? Should I readjust to 100 words exactly?

I am so nervous about this whole process. I have been working so very hard to reach this goal. Just getting accepted will be an accomplishment in itself! Any tips on how to just RELAX?

Thanks!

I did attach my resume to the different packets I sent for the multiple schools I applied for. If you do decide to do an objective statement, send it too. I sent my resume and objective statement with my packet, even if the school only required one of the documents or did not require any at all. And if there is a limit I would say yes, readjust to fit into that limit. I've read that certain schools get so many applicants that they only read until a certain amount of words and then stop reading to save time. I wouldn't cut out everything, but make it much shorter than it is now considering you have almost double amount of words over the limit.

I don't know about the school resume but you need to cut your essay down to 1/3 its length. Not only will they not read it all but they may not read any of it because sometimes they figure if the student can't follow directions on the applications what chance is there they will follow the directions through the program or in the field afterwards.
