ACT Scores

Published

The ACT is required for our nursing program. You have to score a minimum of 18 on the test. Our school only has a point system and no waiting list. They base the points mostly on GPA and ACT. I took the ACT when I was in High School and got an 18, that is the lowest they accept and earns little points. At the time I didn't care about the test and didn't want to be taking it. I am scheduled to take it in October and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on prepping for it. I have earned the maximum points for the GPA and the other areas but I really need to do good on the ACT. For those of you that have taken it do you know what the average score is? Thanks, Beth

I believe there are study guides to help you improve your score, but am usure. Google it and see if anything that might help comes up. I am sure someone will stroll by soon than will be of much better help. Either way, good luck to you. :)

What school are you applying to?

I think its really good to get one of the ACT study guides that you can do practice tests either on the computer or on paper. It gets you comfortable with the format of the test, the types of questions, and the time restraints.

I will be applying in May at Monroe Community College. I just moved here from Missouri. Do you happen to know anything about this school--I see that your in Michigan?

I took my ACT about 4 months ago after being out of high school for 11 years. I used The Princeton Review, Inside the ACT 2003 Deluxe cd. It covers every area of the ACT, has practice tests, and gives other wonderful tips. It helped me score a 24. Hope this helps you out, and good luck.
