ACLS Certification

I was wondering if this is a course I can take online?

I thought it might help as a new grad to have some extra certifications to offer.

So whats the best idea?

It is not a course that should be completed on-line. You still would have to go thru competencies with an instructor, so you would not be saving yourself anything at all.

And especially as a first-time taker, there is a full all day two day program that you need to go thru. It will cover everything from rhythm strips to code meds, using a defibrillator, etc.

Best of luck to you in your schooling.

So how do I fine where and when classes are offered?

Go to ENA.org and look up where classes are being offered.

You can call your local hospital's education department and see if they are offering it any time soon.

ACLS is fairly stressful, and you really need to study hard ahead of time, this isn't a class you just show up and sit through and pass.

As a soon to be new grad I know that the positions that I have looked at require ACLS... but they will pay for it once I am hired. Just thought I'd offer my :twocents:, since I know that money can be tight.
