okay - i know it's nothing to brag about. but considering i only started this journey in feb of this year i'm very excited to be getting in somewhere 9 months later. i still have the financial aid hurdle and i'm not entirely sure that i'll be able to get the tuition covered. my appt is for thurs so i guess i will know more then.this board has been so helpful in guiding me through the whole process so i wanted to share my good news.
congrats!!! how exciting, get out your shoes and jump those hurdles and start class. sending positive thoughts to you for thursday with financial aid. i look forward to being able to send out an e-mail with a start date.
best of luck.
They were able to do the finacing right then and there - I got the Pell Grant for appx $4700 and a little $500 one. Two federal loans covered all but $9000 of the total tuition. They tried to get salliemae to cover the $9000 but I got turned down on that unless I have a cosigner (my credit is trashed due to an upcoming foreclosure). I could have paid as I went on that part ($376/month) but I found a personal source to cover the $9000 for me.
Now I just hope the federal loans get to Apollo before anything disasterous happens to student loans because of this bailout!
Massage - don't you work at Apollo? If so, why don't you just go and talk to financial aid?
The first 2 semesters at Apollo are prerequs and by looking at the schedule (for those 2 semesters) it looks like one could hold a job if necessary. After that though, I wouldn't attempt to hold a job at the same time.
Huh... so it is what I thought it would be. No wonder no one would give me a straight answer over the phone. I make too much to get Pell go all I would have would be the Stafford Loan and my credit is too bad to get a private loan so I'd be looking at probably $800/month in tuition. I definitely couldn't make that happen.

Congratulations!!! I was also accepted into the November 17th 2008 start. I just finished up all of my financial stuff today and the next step is orientation :) I guess we will be spending the next 2 years in the same classes, crazy!
I am not sure how to private message but hopefully you will get this. All I have heard is that we will not get our scrubs until the second week of class and we will get our books the first day of class. I am 20 years old maybe the youngest and I have an 8 month old son so this is going to be difficult. I am just going to give it my all and hope for a good outcome! Oh, my name is Kristina.
