Accepted in Drexels ACE Program Spring 2009

I just got my letter Wednesday that I have been accepted :yeah:to Drexel's ACE program for Spring 2009, I am excited:lol2:, scared:scrying:, nervous and anxious. I have been readying the boards everyday for a month before I joined, I have found so much useful information:bowingpur. If anyway has word of wisdom, encouragment, I welcome them with open arms.

sorry it posted so many times replying for my handheld.

I took stats my sophmore year it was a killer, went into the final with a low D get a 100 on the final and some extra credit point. get a C thank God.

Eek...this doesn't bode well for me..:imbar not to mention it's going to be a 7:30-8:45PM Monday/Wednesday...bleh, after working all day and then going home and chilling for an hour or so and then it's right back out to class..I'm crossing my fingers they'll take my two Psych ones...

Yeah, my acceptance letter came w/ the welcome packet..so I guess it's just whatever order stuff gets done in, and you have a point about them being busy w/ the incoming class right now..oh well, I'll just have to keep watching my mailbox like a hawk every day! :D

Geez.. I didn't find the PA forum here until now. I did searches for Drexel, but these fourms must not come up in the general search.

Anyhow, I'll be joining some of you for the Spring 2009 semester! I'm very excited. I received my acceptance letter (pending completion of prereqs). Today, I got the list of prereqs I needed (only A&P II which I took Summer I!!!) So, I'm in in in, and sent my $500 check off.

I just don't know what I should do for the next 8 months. I'm still working, but figured I'd take March off (program begins March 30th?) and find something to do before then, since I'm done with classes!

Shyrie, congrats on your acceptance. I will hopefully meet you when classes start.

Congrats on your acceptance Shyrie! And welcome to the PA forum! :yeah:

I found out they took my Stats, so one less class, yay! :yeah: Just need to get through Nutrition and Ethics, and then I'll have a couple months to kill. I'm definitely going to keep working, but I think I'm gonna be done beginning of March, take some time to relax and spend time w/ my hubby before he loses me for a year..:lol2:

I need to get my check in still..

Anyone figure out the financial aid stuff? I just got the general admissions/all requirements in package with info about immunizations, etc. But, I was wondering, since we technically begin in the '08 school year, do we have to get our fafsa in this year or next year. And for next year, will that include the spring/summer semesters, or just the fall?

(I don't know if anyone has sorted that stuff out already).

I'm probably moving to Willow Grove in a few months, hopefully I'll get some nearbyish clinical assignments, but I am fearing the worst. =P

And what about books.. Should we hound the Fall 08 students for the Fall/Winter textbooks (some we'll probably need forever).

I got my financial aid stuff about a week ago. I filled out the 2008-2009 FAFSA. On the financial aid packet that I got, it looks like it's for two quarters because the tuition listed on there was only $16,000, so I'm guessing this is Spring/Summer and then we'll have to fill out the 2009-2010 FAFSA for Fall/Winter.

Hey Everyone!

Congratulations on getting accepted into Drexel for Spring 2009! :yeah:

I am from Florida and so I just ended up on Drexel's website last week and saw they had some spots left for Spring 2009. Does anyone know if they still do?? I submitted my application and send my transcripts last week. The lady at admissions told me they had only received one of my many transcripts.

I was just wondering how long this whole process is? How long do you think it will be before I hear back. I am super stressing out because I wish I knew to apply earlier! I would love to go to Drexel! I have so much family up there and I am kinda sick of Florida. I just finished my bachelors and I don't think I have the 2.7 overall, but I know I have over a 3.0 for the last 60 credits and I have finished all my prerequisites. Do you think I have a good chance??

I don't know how many people have been accepted for the Spring term. There are fewer seats in the spring term (80 vs 120), as a response to the fewer applications. I'd think you have a chance if your GPA was above 3.0 for the last 60 credits and if your prerequisites had decent grades. My GPA was somewhat low, so I sent in a personal statement, too. My application was complete (I had to submit a transcript a second time since they misplaced it) in May, and I heard back in mid-July. I believed some people had gotten acceptances for the Fall 2008 in that time, so there are probably still seats left for the Spring semester.

Good luck!

Hello everyone! I just found out on Friday that I was accepted to Drexel for the Spring of 2009! I am so excited and so relieved! Just wanted to contact some of my fellow classmates so that we can get a chance to know each other before classes begin in March! Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted! If you are still considering Drexel for the Spring of 2009 the website says that they are still accepting applications, so get em' in!! :)

Congrats! Welcome and I hope we get to talk soon, I am also starting in Spring '09. It is so good to meet my fellow class:wink2:mates.

thanks for writing back. my undergraduate cumulative gpa isn't that great...changing majors and all that mess. I have been trying my best to clean my grades. I hope they can see that. I really hope they don't loose my transcript..i always have the worst luck with that. I talked to someone at the school today and they said after they receive the transcripts..it would be about 6 weeks. I really hope it doesnt take that long. I am going to be broke from applying to other nursing schools in the meantime. :( Do you know if they are critical about retaken classes?
