Acceptance to UCF Basic BSN program

Okay, so I currently have a GPA of 3.1 and i have yet to take Microbiology, A&P 1and2, General Chemistry, Stats, and Dev Psych. In addition I have not yet taken the TEAS exam. I will graduate from Valencia College in the Spring of 2012 with Stats and Dev Psych already registered. The rest, I plan to take at UCF in the Fall of '12. My concern is this, I went to a Valencia advisor and when she looked at my GPA, she completely tried to discourage me into going for the UCF BSN program, telling me that UCF only accepts students with an overall GPA of 3.75. I wanted to cry!!:crying2::crying2::crying2: For the past 2 semesters I have been achieving all A's, trying to desperately raise my GPA because I received a total of 4 C's in the past, which I know I cannot go back and fix. Is all hope lost for me if I continue with this dedication and aim for all A's on the rest of the pre-reqs I have? I would really love it to get into the UCF program.. Any advice????:uhoh3::)

Try looking into ASN programs and private university. Don't be discouraged about the private school's price (most will hand out grants and have scholarships available). If it weren't for private schools I wouldn't have gotten in (I've got a similar GPA as you).

Let me first say it never hurts to try. Like EMT89 stated, look into an ASN program...I know Valencial College has a NP (with an intense waiting list), but there are other's out there. Although UCF states that they only accept a min. overall GPA of a 3.0 that is 'false' because they accept students with the highest GPA like 3.7's and up. Search in the forums to see for yourself. You can bring your GPA up since you have more then a few classes to complete. GL
