Accelerated OCC?

Hi Annie. I'm not in the accelerated program but I was offered to apply for it when I was accepted this year. It starts in the Summer semester and you would have pharmacology and foundations. Instead of graduating in June, you would graduate in August of the previous year. There are no breaks except for the holidays (mainly Xmas). That is what got me thinking that I needed that break in the summer. I also know that if you do the accelerated program, you get to train in the DMC affiliated hospitals and if I remember right, they offer you a position when you graduate. When you get accepted next year you will get a whole bunch of information about it. If you want to work through 2 summers, go for it! I just couldn't do it. I need a break or I'll go crazy! :selfbonk:

Thanks so much! I wound up talking to a guy who is in it at the moment. He seems really busy, but I think I want to do the accelerated program. I'm doing a full year of school at the moment without breaks (except school Christmas ones, etc) and I love school, I couldn't imagine not being in it! :)

With the accelerated program do they take students in the fall only or do they offer twice a year enrollment like some of the otehr local colleges do? Also, am I correct in understanding the accelerated program is 1 1/2 years rather than 2?

I believe it's 18 months and you start in the summer, do fall, winter, summer and then fall courses. So yeah, it's 5 semesters.

it's actually only SUMMER, FALL, WINTER, and SUMMER semesters :)

is there anyone in these forums in the accelerated occ program? i have some questions for you! thanks!

I'm not sure. I know someone who is in it through the OCC myspace group. I heard they might not even have it next year!
