Accelerated Nursing

Published

Good evening! I love how this group is so motivating for nursing students and I have also taken the hard decision to make a career change and apply for accelerated programs. However, I don’t have ANY experience in healthcare since I’ve been teaching for years and apps are due in one month. My question is - How can I possibly make my application look better? What can I do in a month? All I could think of was BLS and ACLS certification! Would this strengthen my application? Any advice?

I believe accelerated BSN programs are targeted at adult, second career learners.  Unlike entry level ADN programs who usually refuse to talk to students until they're in the program, you might be able to just contact the admissions folks for the program you're interested in and ask them.

I believe BLS is required. CNA or PCT certification could also strengthen your application and also prepare you for some aspects of nursing.
