What do you need to know I have a book?

I think it would be easier to find a website with the normal values as opposed to the abnormal.

Try this: http://www.dalesplace.net/lab_values.php. Do you have RNotes? I downloaded it to my PDA and have found it very useful in clinicals. Among many other things, it has normal lab values.

there are no sites that list abnormal lab values. abnormal lab values can take on such a wide range. are you looking for what are called "panic values", values are critical or threatening a person's life? even those may be difficult to find. i usually send people to lab tests online for lab test information. there is another site that is for professionals where you may, with some searching be able to find more on abnormal values with some explanations. the site contains just about every kind of test a doctor might order, but as i said you really have to do some searching to find things on this site: http://www.aruplab.com/testing/user_guide.jsp

http://www.nursesdrughandbook.com/more/laboratoryvalues/normallabvalues.cfm - a quick one page reference of normal blood values for cbc, pt/ptt/inr, bleeding time, most common chemistries tested, and abgs

http://www.labtestsonline.org/ -- this site has been designed as a single resource where people can find up-to-date lab testing information vital to the understanding and management of their health, or the health of someone close to them. it includes test descriptions, conditions, screening guide and current news. when looking up disease conditions, the lab tests typically ordered for them are listed with links to explanations about them. make sure to check out their site map for more information about lab services.

http://www.dalesplace.net/lab_values.htm - common lab values for nurses to know from dale's place. includes information on hematology, electrolyte, hepatic enzymes, renal related lab tests, protein, lipids, thyroid lab tests and cardiac lab tests. nicely, and simply presented.

http://www.fadavis.com/related_resources/37_1885_491.pdf - a listing of laboratory and diagnostic tests ordered in association with body systems (cardiovascular, endocrine, g.i., genitourinary, hematopeietic, hepatobiliary, immune, musculoskeletal, reproductive, and respiratory) as well as a list of tests for therapeutic drug monitoring. it is from nursing health assessment : a critical thinking, case studies approach by patricia m. dillon from f.a. davis publisher. (took some time to download on my dial up)

thank you!
