ABLS

I just took the ABLS course which was offered by one of the hospitals I work at for a huge discount. Anyone here take it recently? I thought it was actually pretty disappointing. The presenters sped through material so we could get out early for the game that's on TV later, and we learned the Park Lund formula and the rule of 9s, which you learn about in just any trauma class you'd take, and really basic assessments and interventions. I guess I was expecting to come away with a little more in-depth understanding of burn management given the class is normally $$$$$. Did anyone else feel that way, or did my hospital just do a bad job of it?

They were just offering this at my hospital. I think it's Monday. I was going to sign up for it but I am working.

The ABLS class I took a few years ago was excellent. Sounds like yours was a bit rushed. :( I've taken a lot of trauma courses that covered burns during my time as a paramedic and then RN so I had a fairly good working knowledge of Parkland, etc., but we learned about maintenance fluids and special considerations like peds. Felt like I got some new info when I went.
