I have a friend that was ask to give the to the supervisor and leave the floor is that abandondment

Give what to the supervisor? Report? If report was given and care of the patient(s) assumed by another nurse, then no, it's not abandonment. Every nurse needs to read and be familiar with the nurse practice act of the state(s) in which he or she works. What constitutes abandonment will usually be spelled out very clearly, as well as other information that nurses need to know.
