A Kind Act....

U.S.A. Mississippi

Published

The nicest thing happened today, and I just wanted to pass it on.

I am a new grad, and in the process of getting hired at a large hospital in Jackson. I went up this morning to do my HR processing, and having gotten there quite early, I pulled into the McDonald's across the street to get a little something in my stomach before starting a busy morning. In the drive-thru line, one car ahead of me was a red SUV. I guess because I was thinking about my purpose in being up there and the hospital right across the street, I was a little more keenly aware of the lady driving it wearing scrubs, and the magnetic "ribbon" on the back with the slogan "Mississippi Nurses Care". The driver paid, received her food, and drove off. As I pulled to the window, I was handing the cashier a $20 bill and she said that the lady in the car ahead of me paid for my food. I was a little puzzled and the cashier said that customers sometimes do that. I was touched, handed her the $20 bill, and said that in that case, please pay for the guy behind me.

I don't know how much further that kind act traveled, but I would like to think that it continued on throughout the day. Just goes to show; you never know how many people a single act of kindness will touch in a day.

And if that very nice nurse is a reader on this board, I'd like to say "Thank you".
