I'm an A/B student.. what will this do for me when applying to a nursing program?

Well considering 99% of programs require a B average, this doesn't make sense. It all depends what your program considers when evaluating applicants.

Maybe it'll get you into the program you want. Maybe not. Depends on who else is applying, really.

It all depends.
One semester all those applying could have a C+ average, the next it could be closer to B+/A.
It is best to go for the gold in all of your classes. Don't bank on what was acceptable in previous terms.
Be well.

Depends on the institution you're applying to. In Southern Oregon, there's only two nursing programs; the BSN program I applied to (and got in with a 3.93) had an average GPA of 3.85. You'd think the local ADN course would be less competitive, but because it receives double the applicants, their average GPA of accepted students was just as high.
A lot of programs use a point system to determine admissions. If your GPA isn't the highest, get experience in the field as a CNA or comparable entry level position, get volunteer hours, take courses that might add points (for instance, chemistry wasn't required, but we got extra points on our application for having done it).
