Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows if or where you can take A&P and Microbiology online. I live in southern California and it is almost impossible to get into these classes at the local community colleges! I will be taking my lpn nclex on June 9 but I wanted to get my prereqs for the RN program done as soon as possible! Its really frustrating because as you know I wont be able to get into any RN program without the prereqs first. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it!
Thanx, SM

I know they offer micro with lab at Colorado Commuity Colleges Online. Alot of nursing students take it. Check the distance learning forum. There are a few threads dedicated to it.

These classes requires laboratory hours especially microbiology. You might check your RN program or school first if they accept an online class before enrolling.
The CCConline Microbiology class does have a lab, they send you a kit with all your supplies including a microscope. It is a very good class that has one lots of awards. Hundreds of pre-nursing students have taken it and used it to satisfy nursing school requirements. It has been the saving grace for many who have not been able to get the class in at a local college.
It does not show up on a transcript as an "online class" as you must pick a "home college" in the Colorado network as your base.
It is not a bad idea though to show your program a description of the course before you enroll.
