To study for A&P EC can I use my old A&P book.
I have the EC outline and sample questions, before testing I will purchase the study guide.
What did you use.
Thanks

i'm studying for this now, i haven't taken the test yet but i'm using a variety of a&p books, as the recommended textbook was a bit "wordy" to me. I'm using my one from lpn school, straight A's in A&P book, and the demystified books. I'm also listening to these online lectures someone told me about on youtube from UC berkley professor diamond. so far that's really helped to gel my reading together into more sense for me! good luck!
ps you can find the recommended textbook on ebay or half.com look for an edition or two behind and it's WAY cheaper...i got the whole set including the atlas and the ip interactive software for like $15 plus shipping

Anatomy is anatomy, physiology is physiology. I always used texts that I already owned for the EC tests and did ok.
Thanks guys...I can't find the recommended text information on the ec website?

The recommended text is always listed in the exam content guide.
You can also find the recommended text information on the EC bookstore page. Each recommended text is listed with all the info needed to buy it from any source you care to. The EC bookstore prices are high.
Found it thanks...think I am going to get the study guide and use my own book, which I paid about 175 for.

I found that it was easier when I used the recommended textbook. All the text books have the same information, but the information that is "highlighted" as more important varies from author to author.
Also, if you use the same textbook, then the book tends to follow the study guide.
I used the recommended textbooks for about half my exams. Any books will work. However, please note that most nursing textbooks are frequently updated, and the changes are minimal-- often they just rearrange the chapters! Because of this, you can get onto Amazon and buy the previous edition for often just a few dollars. In addition, check the local library-- almost all of the Excelsior books I was able to borrow for free.

I also suggest chegg.com you can rent the books needed at a small price. You can get it as long as 60 days, a semester or even set your days.
