I have finished all the pre-req's needed and just need to register for one of the nursing schools but my delima is quiting work, is there no school that you can go to for nursing school that affords you to work as well?

Most of the people in my class worked and were very successful despite the school's warning not to work. Double shifts on weekends was a popular schedule. We were adults for heaven's sake! Speaking only for myself if I hadn't been able to work I wouldn't have gone to school. Good luck!

We all did different things. Many were sitters or CNAs, some waitressed and bartended, some worked retail. If you do clerical couldn't you do jobs during the evenings and weekends like maybe a front desk clerk at a hotel, evening receptionist at a hospital etc.? Good luck.

How many hours do you work? I, along with many classmates, work all the while going to school. Many have kids as well. The challenge is scheduling your work hours around your class times, which can be a challenge. I have a work-study job so they are very accomodating of my schedule. I work around 30 hours a week and maintain decent grades.

I worked Nights full time and did nursing school during the day. it took me 3 years start to finish , to do Lpn and then the RN, No social life, but it is just a little Blip in a life time.

Hello ladies sorry it took me so long to reply, I work 40 hour work week, in the construction side, so not so accomidating they are. They want you there at like 7.30 till 5pm. I don't have much of a social life being a single mom but that is cool. Thanks for your words of advise.

Working full time, a single mom and with those type of hours... it will be tough. I know that for my program, you wouldn't be able to do it because those are the hours you're in class or clinicals. Do your research about schools you want to attend, call, email them, maybe they can accommodate. Good luck.
