This might be a long shot, but is anyone applying to a second entry BScN with a disability, or are there current nursing students on this forum with one? Mine is a mental health condition and I chose to disclose this to admissions since some of my marks during undergrad were affected as a result. I guess I'm a bit worried about how it will affect how they view my application/suitability. I also understand that accelerated programs are quite stressful... just wondering what your own experiences have been like.

I'm an applicant, starting a BScN this September. I'm autistic and have a couple of mental health things going on, as well as fibromyalgia. I'm a little nervous about the intensity of the programs myself, but I've learned a lot of coping skills during my last degree.

If your grades were severely affected, you can always write to the schools and explain the drop that way. If your grades are otherwise good, I don't think you need to be so worried. I think that a lot of schools are pretty accommodating with mental illnesses, and more and more schools are providing accessibility services.

From what I've read, any nursing program is stressful, accelerated or otherwise. The important thing is to practice good self-care and try to find some services at your school that can help you. I'm currently finishing my BA, and my school experience changed for the better when registered with accessibility services.

In short, don't worry about your mental health holding you back! It's rough, but if you're determined enough to get this far, you can make it through. :)
