Possible relocation to MN?

Hello Minnesotans!

I'm considering a possible move to MN. I will be strictly looking into CC positions. I will have 1-year of Stepdown experience when I start applying, and I will be looking into positions at Mayo, Hennepin, and North Memorial. It seems like MN pays a decent salary and has a low cost of living, am I missing something? I know this will not be easy, but it surely can't be more difficult than obtaining a CC position in the NJ/NY area. Any comments, concerns, and/or advice are appreciated. I plan to start the licensure by endorsement process soon. Moreover, it seems that most of the positions that I've researched only require 1-year of acute care experience. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately I don't have any info on what you need...I just wanted to say hello as another NY/NJ native that moved to Minnesota! :)

Hi, thanks for the reply

Do you like MN? Is the cost of living reasonable?

So mayo is in rochester mn, where the pay is comparable to the cities but the cost of living is better. I say come to rochester. however rochester is very small town like so if you need city life then just focus on the twin cities.

Yeah Minnesota is okay. However I do miss the hustle and bustle of the city. Living in the Twin Cities just doesn't quite do it for me. BUT it is a very good place to be if you want to have a career in the medical field.

I just relocated too from the NY/NJ area but still commuting to NY for work. I agree the is nowhere

I just relocated to MN from the NY area too and I agree, there is no place like NY. The pace is way slower than what we New Yorkers are used to. Minnesota is great for raising a family though. The cost of living is less for the most part but there are some things that are as costly as in NY. I have interviewed at a couple of places and the pay seems comparable to that of NY especially with experience. Are you still planning to relocate or are you in the twin cites now?
