  1. I just relocated to MN from the NY area too and I agree, there is no place like NY. The pace is way slower than what we New Yorkers are used to. Minnesota is great for raising a family though. The cost of living is less for the most part but there are some things that are as costly as in NY. I have interviewed at a couple of places and the pay seems comparable to that of NY especially with experience. Are you still planning to relocate or are you in the twin cites now?
  2. I just relocated too from the NY/NJ area but still commuting to NY for work. I agree the is nowhere
  3. How do the benefits differ between the two places? Pension, healthcare e.t.c. Maybe that will be the tie breaker.
  4. Thanks all for the comments. I'm leaning toward HCMC because it's the pace that I'm used to and better benefits. I might end up picking up shifts at Allina also. Let's see how it goes. Thanks!
  5. Still unsure. I don't know the hospitals in the area.
  6. I just relocated to MN from a large metro area. I am an ER nurse for over ten years and also an experienced midwife. I applied for ER nursing at Allina and HCMC. I'm being considered for both. I'm undecided about which way to go since I'm not familiar with the MN healthcare system. I'm also hoping to continue my Midwifery career and I know HCMC has a large midwifery practice. Surprisingly HCMC is offering a slightly higher pay but it's further away (20 mins) from where I live than Allina is (5 mins tops). Let me add that Allina has 12 hrs, which is lovely but HCMC only 8 hrs. Any assistance to resolve my conundrum is appreciated.
