I just finished my LPN program in New Jersey. I was thinking about moving to North Carolina. Can anyone tell me what the pay rate is down there in the Raleigh area?

thank u

Welcome to Allnurses.com!

Your post has been moved to the North Carolina Nursing forum to attract responses from nurses who live and work in the state where you are thinking about relocating. Good luck to you!

It depends on the type field you want to work in. Many hospitals do not hire LPN's here...pay ranges from about $14/hr up to about $20/hr it varies so much! Good luck!!

I work for the VA and make $21/hr

Local TV station just announced on news last night that big hosp in Asheville no longer hiring LPN's and will begin Phasing Them Out ( all 35 of them currently on staff). Local CC having to offer LPN students a way to blend into ADN program to complete their training.

As a former LPN, I had heard this threat for 40 years, but it is now becoming a reality! Pretty much, an LPN's only choice will be LTC's.. Don't think LTC's will stop hiring LPNs as they get paid less, and we all know LTC's are about filthy lucre.

Pretty much think other hospitals in other cities will follow suit if they haven't already started this trend.
