After 8 hours of NRP book and CD work, all that is going through my head is..

One-and-two-and-three-and-breathe-and...

After 4 weeks orienting to feeders/growers up to nasal cannula and 4 weeks on staff taking those assignments, I am now back on orientation for vents and cpaps. There aren't any vents/cpaps right now (smaller unit...22 beds filled is considered stuffed to the gills), so I did NRP modules all day. Can't wait to see what's in store tomorrow.

After all the book-work yesterday re: the low acuity, today I oriented to a very sick 28 weeker on an oscillating vent. I have to admit, I'm really glad I spent that time on the NRP materials the day before. Lots of at-home reading tonight.
