I guess you could call me a non traditional student. I'm 28 and and am in my first semester of pre-req's, although I have some credits from a few years ago. My question is...is the SAT required? Was it required where you went to school to get into the ADN program? I had never taken it and the thought stresses me out. I studied for the COMPASS (college entrance) and am now taking 13 credit hours and am studying my butt off so I don't know if I can fit studying for the SAT in anytime soon. I noticed it didn't have the SAT as a requirement for the program but I'm assuming it is. Does anyone know about this? Thanks!

It depends on your school. The BSN program in my area requires it but the ADN program does not. You need to check with the school. If it's not required, don't take it, you'll never use it again. If you have your english and math (at the 101 level) most schools don't require you to take an entrance exam either.

I didn't have to take it when I started taking my pre-req's about 10 years ago. I tranferred all of the credits to a private college this year, that normally requires it for traditional students.

I did have to take the NLN exam though, in place of the SAT's.

I didn't have to take the SAT but an entrance exam in the school I choose to get the ADN. It tested English and Math skills. I scored well enough to go right into the ADN program. But those who scored lesser simply had to go into some remedial courses first, before moving into the ADN.
