To expunge or not in Florida

Hey everyone,

I am a nursing student in Florida, I am 29 years old. When I was 17 I get arrested for grand theft but I was referred to teen court and it was dismissed. My record has been clean since. I got accepted to nursing school and I've been reading a lot on here about expungment. When I apply to sit for NCLEX, it seems like I would need to disclose my juvenile arrest, although I was not convicted. I'm debating on getting it expunged, but it seems like I would need to report my expunged juvenile case regardless to BON, so then what is the point of expunging?

I already work in the hospital as a tech so I have a nursing job lined up, I need advice on to expunge or not for BON. Please share if you live in Florida and have been through the process. Thank you!

That's really something we cannot advise.

Most BON ask specific questions like, "have you ever been arrested (yes)"........ "have you ever been charged (yes)" .........

You will need to see what the FL BON states and go from there.

Good luck.
