hello everyone, first time using this website hope i am doing this right but i have a couple math questions i need help with if you guys could do them and give me some feedback thanks=)

reconsitution- synthroid 0.125 mg iv is to be administered to your patient. available is a vial of dry powder containing 200 mcg of synthroid with reconstitution instructions to add 5 ml of saline for a concentration of 40 mcg/cc. how many mls of synthroid will you administer?

heparin drip-a heparin drip is prepared with 40000 units in 500cc. at what rate (ml/hr) will the pump set if the ordered dose is

a)1450 units/hr

b)1100 units/hr

also if anyone has good reconstitution guestions or hep. drip questions that you can post thatd be great!!!

1. Convert 0.125 mg to 125 mcg

125 mcg(amount you are giving)

_______________________________ X 5 mL = 15.63 mL synthroid .

40 mcg/mL (mcg/mL)

Ask your instructor whether he/she wants things rounded to whole numbers, tenths or hundredths.

2. a. 40000 units/500 mL = 80 units/mL. You'll need to run the pump at 18.125 mLs/hour

( 1450 / 80 = 18.125)

b. 1100 / 80 = 13.75 ...... 13.75 mLs/hour.
