cnursewoods,

Congratulations!!!! I got my letter too!!! I am so excited... :coollook:

I have been working on scholarship applications every since I opened my letter...I also sent out a letter to one of the local hospitals to inquire about clinical opportunities...I am just so ready to get started, I can't wait!

BTW: Did you notice that DCN's new website is up this week...at least I just noticed it yesterday. They posted an outline of the RN program and it has changed a bit, so you might want to check it out...

Congrats to both of you. :balloons: Thanks for the heads up on the new website. Wow, the new site sure is a heck of a lot better than their old one. I didn't see too many changes, the curriculum looks about the same. Congrats again and good luck.

I was told that clinical validation at DCN was only 1 day. Have you heard this?

Has anyone heard about the new changes DCN has made for clinical validation? I think that I read somewhere that it was only one day now.

Who told you it was only one day? Is it stated in the new catalog? I was under the impression that clinical validations take about 3-4 days. Let us know :)

Hello everybody.

I just contacted Deaconess and am trying to enter their RN online program for 2005.

Can you tell me how the application process works, what I have to watch out for, how they select their students and how many can enter? ( so many questions)

Also, were you able to get financial Aid in form of Stafford or other loans.?

Thank you so much for any help.

I'm just starting and it's all very confusing. :uhoh3:

Hello to you as well.

First of all you will need to get all of your transcripts sent to the school. Financial aid depends on your income. They do have loans out there and scholarships. Next you have to fill out your application along with a thirty dollar non-refundable fee. Then you will have to send 100.00 to save your spot. If you are doing the online program, you first need to find a proctor in your state to do your clinicals.(local hospital) All of this information you can find at their website.

Write back if you have any more questions.

The application fee has gone up to 50.00. There is nothing to it really. If you have no prior college(like me) then you can still get in. Yes there are loans you can get. I stressed about everything and bugged Erin Kelly(admissions rep) everyday. Now that I think about it they may have let me in just so I wouldn't call her anymore.;)

Good luck hope that helps some.

Lisa,

I am so happy for you...I know how you felt when you got that letter... :chuckle

I have not heard anything about a change in the clinical evals, but if anyone finds out something new, let us know.

I am hunting for a clinical site this week...Keeping my fingers crossed since this is the real key to making the Deaconess program work.

GO CLASS OF 2006!!!!
