"Acceptance letter for DCN"
Hello to you as well. First of all you will need to get all of your transcripts sent to the school. Financial aid depends on your income. They do have loans out there and scholarships. Next you have to fill out your application along with a thirty dollar non-refundable fee. Then you will have to send 100.00 to save your spot. If you are doing the online program, you first need to find a proctor in your state to do your clinicals.(local hospital) All of this information you can find at their website. Write back if you have any more questions.

Has anyone heard about the new changes DCN has made for clinical validation? I think that I read somewhere that it was only one day now.

Thank you for the information. It was very informative. Good luck to you!:) QUOTE=mona b]Welcome aboard Glad to hear your about to start your nursing education. One of the most important things I have learned as a DCN student is patience . It is still a relatively new program and new nursing programs are subject to the need for tweeking here and there. Communication could be better, support could be better, the tuition is way to high. I think the very nature of how this program is set up lends itself to these problems though. On the flip side, it is very convenient, the instructors are great, the course content is not extremely overwhelming (compared to some nursing schools I have heard of). I love the fact that it is not a traditional nursing school(delivery method) and there are very few, if any programs like it. However, I am sure other schools will follow suit. Mucho bucks to be made here :) . I love the autonomy of the program, it is very well suited for older students or those that do not need to have their hand held all the time. This program would probably not work for individuals who are not at least somewhat assertive and independent. In regards to your questions, no I don't think taking 3 classes would be difficult. I am taking five and doing okay with it, but it does take up much of my time. The best way to acheive, (I guess you are talking about good grades), would be to study and participate. As far as the work load goes, I don't find it extremely heavy but I guess it depends where you are coming from. Good Luck and I hope you get in for the fall. Let us know how you make out. mona

Basically, I want to know what the program is like? What is the best way to achieve in the program. What Kind of work load to expect, and would taking three classes at one time be too strenuous?

I was accEPTED TO DCN for MAY! Happy dance, happy dance!
I hope to get in to Deaconess college fall semester, I have had a hard time getting into nursing school the traditional way. I work 24hrs on and 48 hrs off so it was next to impossible to go to class. I have finished all of my paperwork with DCN and hope to start in the fall. keep in touch!

Hello out there, I am currently an EMT and hope to start Dcn in the fall. I was accepted into the program this spring but did not get my financial aid in- in time. I am married with two children and it has been hard to attend classes the traditional way. I just finished my AA in Psychology and the last year was done online at the community college in my area. I look forward to chatting with anyone that is attending this collge or will be. Give a sister some feedback. God Bless!!
