CA Dept of Corrections

Anyone know how long it is currently taking to get on with the CDC? I'm interested in applying but just renewed my lease here in NC (I hold a CA LVN license) for another 9 months. I know it is not a sure thing that I would get hired but in the lucky event that I did, I don't want to be stuck owing a bunch of money for breaking my lease.

    I completed a southern CA LVN program about 6 years ago. Several weeks prior to graduation, an LVN who was employed by the CDC came and spoke to my class regarding career opportunities within the prison system. She stated that the hiring process usually takes about 6 months from start to finish, and that it incorporated a lot of physical fitness testing.
