Washcloth Mitt

I take my CNA state exam tomorrow (Washington State exam). I'm getting a little confused with how you are supposed to use the washcloth mitt. For a lot of the skills (like bed bath or peri-care) you're supposed to use a clean area of the cloth after each stroke. So my question is, am I supposed to turn the mitt inside out or do I stroke with the backside of the mitt as well?

I never used the mitt method. I just folded the washcloth into a square & flipped over. You have 4 clean sides that way.

I was thinking about this method too. I just don't know if the evaluator would be in favor of this method. I'll give the square method a try, I'll ask other students tomorrow how they're going to do it. Thanks for the reply.

I have never used a washcloth mitt, and honestly I dont believe that the evaluater will either. If they do, it most likely would be for washing an foot or something to that extent, not doing any peri care, that would be gross! lol, plus, we dont use them at many facilities.....Good Luck!

I was taught to use the mitt theory. We were taught to use front and back and each side.

I passed my exam, both written and skills. I didn't have any skill that needed the washcloth, but thanks everyone for the responses.

congrats :)

I am about to take my class & exam this month in the Seattle area. How strict was the evaluator? How long did you have to wait after sending your request to take the exam before you were able to take it, and what skills did you have? What kind of class did you take?? Thanks so much
