I had my first return today, didn't ace it but ended up with a 82.....big weight lifted. I have never been so nervous in all my life!!!!!! Anyone else know how I feel? Is an 82 bad on a return?

Good job! Its not easy to have to do procedures on a dummie with others standing there evaluating your performance/technique/sterile procedure. Always made me feel like a fool, but i did it. I probly would have been less nervous had it been a "real" patient.

A return is having to perform a procedure like vital signs, or sterile dressing changes, or foley catheters in front of the instructor with the manekin and you are graded on the skill and also your communication skills. NERVE RACKIN!!!!!!!

Ah, I see...We had several of those during the first semester, now we just have them at the beginning of each term. I agree, they are quite nerve racking. Glad you did well!

At my CC they call those checkoffs and they are graded pass/fail. First semester they made me so nervous I started shaking like crazy. I just barely got the cap back on my needle after filling it to make it safe to cary to the bedside for my injection checkoff. I'm now in second semester and am finally calming down enough so that I don't shake (much).

Same here. They still make me a little nervous. I just did the IV checkoff and I have no medical experience at all. Thats what makes me really nervous. Good luck on your future returns.
