Took me one hour to finish it. I was surprised that I couldn't take a calculator in with me. At least it wasn't too heavy with calculations. LOL. I have to say that Lisa's notes helped alot. . .more so than anything else. Although there was some material on it that wasn't on Lisas notes or in the Chancellors study guide I used. I had to think back and try to visualize what I've seen nurses do at work. I also read through an NCLEX book that helped alot with strategies for taking those types of tests. . that helped tremendously. And the two practice exams that Excelsior offered were AWESOME!!! I highly recommend those!

Nope, no built in calculator. They gave me 6 pieces of scrap paper to write it all out.

Did you take the exam at a Sylvan learning center. I cannot believe they do not provide you with a calculator, that might send some people into a panic. LOL

?? Maybe I should call Excelsior and ask. They were quite adament that I could not take a calculator in. I was told the only test they offer at all that you can use a calculator for was Statistics.

I think I'll place a call to Excelsior today to find out if they gave me wrong information.

Well, I certainly could be wrong, but I thought you were to have access to a calulator for EC exams.

Maybe only certain ones? Or maybe because the calculations are simple, they figure one is not required.

The verdict is in - I called Excelsior and talked with a person in the test administration department. She said you cannot take a calculator into any of the nursing tests. And the only test you can use a calculator with was Statistics and it was on the computer.

Guess they weren't blowing smoke up my 'you know what' after all!
