I am interviewing with Cascade Health Services in a few days. There is very little about this company on the Internet. Is anyone familiar with this company? They mentioned three hours of "testing" as part of the interview. What does this involve?

Hi. I have taken tests for agency and contract positions. They usually consisted of general questions that a prudent nurse knows. Also, they have you do checklists of your skills which are very time consuming. I also have taken medication calculation tests and drug medication tests. My recommendation is to refresh on your calculations, and side effects of meds. I found that a lot of the tests were outdated and many of the drugs we do not even use anymore. When that happened I tried to use the process of elimination. If you know the class of the drug you may be able to choose the side effects that generally go along with that drug. Good luck.

What state is this company in? You should be able to get some information from the state you live in. Look in your state's online website. Ie, in MI nursing homes survey scores and citations are public information.

Thanks, Sandi! It's in Kansas, among other states. They are just going in to an area that we want to retire to. I hesitate to give up a day-shift position with coworkers/physicians I know, but I'm hoping this will transition me to a job I can enjoy for 10 years or more, hopefully away from the frantic-ness of a med-surg floor. The Internet just lists # of employees (listed as 4-6, so I'm assuming that's adminstrative staff) and realized income. I'd really like to know how they are to work for, whether you can rely on them for hours, whether their benefits are really as good as they look up front, etc.

did you ever find out? I will going to them tomorrow for the test process. Looks like I need to be doing homework tonight.
