So the post about media portrayal and nurses made me want to post this...

We were watching "The Doctors" the other morning and the ED doc on the show made several positive comments about nurses, as well as bashing people aho think men shouldn't be nurses.

The comment that stuck out the most to me was (paraphrased): "When a trauma comes in, it's the team of nurses that really stabilize the pt enough to have something to work with."

Everything he had to say really emphasized the importance of nursing care and he seemed to have a great appreciation of the nurses he works with. Made me wish he would come and talk to some of the docs I have to deal with!

You know, that is not the 1st time I have heard them commend us. They are really good about that. Now, I wanna know...what does Dr. Oz think???? Lol!

GREAT post! I couldn't agree more, and I hope a lot of docs are lurking.....one doctor, of my acquaintance, in particular. Can you tell I had the pleasure of coming into contact today with a "constipated headcase"?

"The Doctors" is a great show! Its really informative, especially with the 4 different types of docs that they have on there. Everyone should watch the show! I tune in every chance I get!
