Hi, I want to start the Nursing program at Edison State College and I wanted to know what classes I have to take before I can apply. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks

Normally I'd tell you to check the schools website or to call and ask to speak with an adviser, but seeing as how I'm pretty bored I did some of the legwork for you.. From my minimal research here, it appears to be a bridge program for people who already have their (ADN/ASN) RN. This is the list of requirements taken right from that page..

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Admissions Requirements

  1. Applicants must apply for admission and be accepted to Edison State College. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities must be sent directly to the Office of the Registrar.
  2. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in all postsecondary coursework.
  3. Applicants must provide official transcripts showing an A.S. Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution or a diploma in nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, along with an associates degree.
  4. Applicants must provide a copy of a valid, unrestricted, unencumbered RN license from the state in which the applicant is practicing, to be kept current throughout the duration of the required course of study.
  5. Applicants must complete all college preparatory coursework and a minimum of fifteen (15) semester hours of transferable general education coursework for admission into the BSN program.
  6. Students must complete ENC 1101, ENC 1102 and one college level math course prior to enrollment in any upper division courses (numbered 3000 level or above).

I usually offer the same advice. :) I came up with the same list however looking further in the website I noticed they have Associates in Science Degree Programs and listed there was the basic nursing program which is where I find the student handbook.

Good eyes! I didn't even notice that they offered an ASN program as well, I just clicked on the BSN at the top of the page. OP - between the two of us we got you covered, glad to help. :)
