Amazon.com is great.

My school's bookstore was charging $1000 for this semester's books.

I got them all brand new on Amazon for a total of $400.

btw thx for the reply

I usually use amazon but, I know of a couple others:

- half.com ( i got my ethics book for 5 bucks brand new it was over 50 at the school bookstore)

- chegg.com is also a good site but you rent the books not buy them

Hi

There is a web site that compares book prices. from that you can find which store has the cheapest book/best deal. The web site is Dealoz.com

hope this helps

I got several of my pre-req textbooks for cheap through Abebooks.com.

Campusbookrentals.com

I believe it is. If you're going to just use it and never look at them.

Very affordable prices.

I personally use bigwords.com. It searches MANY different sites for the best prices and will let you know if theres coupon codes available for an even better discount. Also this is a great resource for more sites: College Students Looking For SUPER Cheap Used Books - SlickDeals.net Forums (I LOVE slickdeals. That topic's discussion is also helpful with some techniques that other people have used to get free/deeply discounted books.) Lastly, I would say, DON'T rent your books!! Often times on Big Words, I see the rent prices are within a $5 range of a used book. That's just throwing your money away! BUY the book and after you're done, put it back on craigslist, half, amazon, etc. I've recouped almost ALL of my money spent on books when I sell them back.

:up:;) thx everybody :up::twocents::twocents::twocents::twocents:

textbooks.com - they have new and used, and they have a marketplace. I got the nurse aide workbook for $10, and it's $30 new. I also got my husbands book for $10 and it is $60 new.

I've used Chegg.com to rent books when I could not find them cheap enough to purchase, which has only happened two times with really new editions.

I hope this isn't a thread hijack, but i've seen a lot of books posted cheaply as international editions, any thoughts on those? Good, Bad, run in the other direction? Thanks :)

You would have to ask your instructor if they accept the international version. Some do not. I have the international version for my Micro book and all of our Micro teachers accept it.

I used the international editions of my micro, a&p and chemistry textbooks. Same exact material, just softbound. Saved big $$'s!
