can some1 please help me correct any errors that you see on my resume. i am a new grad cna and currently hunting for job but 1st i need to have my resume completed before i can apply for a job. also, many ads that i'm looking at they require 1 year of experience, so is it ok that i still apply for this job anyway or is it just a waste of time if i apply for it? also, i want to work for 7 days per week so where do i put that info under? this is the 1st time i'll go to work and i need a job quick to help me pay my bills and everything cos my parents said now i'm on my own and they're not gonna help me w/ this anymore:crying2:...anyway hope that i can find a job soon...praying, praying and praying everyday....

First of all, congratulations on becoming a CNA. To answer some of your questions...If the facility REQUIRES 1 year experience, you should not apply. However, if experience is preferred, then you can go ahead and apply. That means they would like you to have experience but it is not NECESSARY. And I am not 100% positive but I think in most states it is illegal to continuously work Full time 7days a week...Not only that, but you're gonna be so physically burned out with that schedule. Especially if you have never worked before.

How to Write a Resume for a Nursing Assistant Job


1. Step 1
   Write your personal contact information at the top of your resume. This information should include your first and last name, current address, telephone number and email address.
   
2. Step 2
   Write a brief, but powerful resume objective to try to capture your potential employers' attention and make them want to call you for an interview. Your objective should let your potential employer know what you can do for them. Make them believe you're the person they need for the position.
   
3. Step 3
   List your educational training. Include the school(s) you received your training from, any degrees or certifications you received and the time you attended the school.
   
4. Step 4
   List your previous work experience. Be sure to include your responsibilities and highlight your skills. You want your previous work history to show that you are a valuable employee with a strong work ethic.
   
5. Step 5
   Include any affiliations such as volunteer work or organizations you belong to. It would be helpful if you had volunteer work relevant to the healthcare industry such as working in a hospital or nursing home, experience as a home health aide or primary care provider. If you provided care for a relative, be sure to include it.
   
6. Step 6
   Note that your references are available upon request. If you're contacted by the employer and they ask for references, be sure to have references ready to show them.
   
7. Step 7

I would not say you want morning shift. You need to be willing to work other shifts. If they're hiring for 3-11 and they see that on your resume they're just going to pass right over you.

I would definitely include references since you have no work history. Make them good too- a teacher, your CNA instructor, someone from a volunteer experience. If you had contact with your grandma's home health team maybe someone from there could give you a reference. Don't bother getting references from your best friend or your aunt or your next-door neighbor.

I think it's cheesy when people list the skills they had in clinical. The place is going to expect all their applicants to know how to do those things already.
