Relocate to where the jobs are?

Maybe a real silly question, just wondering, when people say they relocate to an area where jobs are plentiful, do they really physically move to that area, then look for jobs there, or do they look for jobs first, then move to there physically after they get the jobs?

I applied for jobs all over the country. I will be moving for a job in Texas later in the summer. Had I not accepted this position I would still be unemployed. I would say apply wherever you could see yourself moving and travel for interviews as much as you can, because it seems you have to go where the jobs are these days!

Same here, I applied for jobs across the country. Of them I got 3 phone interviews and 1 face to face interview, none of the places in my area responded to my applications. I will be moving from Massachusetts to DC in August where I was offered a position.

Either way. I moved to be near my daughter anyway. Then I got my jobs after I got there. If I had been moving anywhere else, I would have got a job first, before the move. The move was necessary because I had not been able to get a job for around two years at home and it was crunch time at the bank.
