a vial contains 2 gm of powder. after being reconstituted with 4cc saline, how many mls are needed to administer a 500mg dose?

dose desired:
500 mg

dose on hand:
2 grams

conversion factor:
1 gram = 1000 mg

also, be aware that 1 cc = 1 ml

dose desired divided by dose on hand multiplied by any amount the dose on hand comes in gives you the quantity you will give.

500 mg
(dose desired)
/2 grams
(dose on hand)
x 4 ml
(amount the dose on hand comes in)
/1 x 1 gram/1000 mg
(conversion factor - to convert grams to mg)
=
1 ml
(amount you will give)
