A&P I or II - Which Is More Difficult?

Just curious - it was A&P I years back and it appears it hasn't changed. What do you think?

When I took A&P I, in 1996, I thought it was more difficult than A&PII. I really enjoyed A&PII. I also had a great teacher for A&PII, that also helps.

I agree with Hanna. I think that A&P I is more difficult. I think it;'s ebcause it's more hardcore memorization and very little actual physiology. Physiology makes sense. Which makes it easier to remember. A&P I is all about mnemonics. bleh!

I'm going to take A & P 2 in the Fall. I've heard that A & P 1 is the hardest....I have to admit though that I loved it and recieved an A+ in the course.

I agree that A & P I required more memorization. Really hard for those of us with substandard memories (like mine)! :)

I though A&P 2 lab was easier, than the first lab. However, I though that A&P 2 lecture was much more difficult. Lots of physiology. I can memorize bones and muscles all day long, but I find the physiology much more difficult and time consuming.

I thought AP II was more difficult due to the physiology. Well, to be honest, it was the systems studied. How can anyone understand our crazy urinary system? The physiology of the respiratory system was also insane!

Bones and muscles were much easier for me.

That is exactly how I feel! I thought renal phsyiology was probably the most difficult thing we studied through my two semesters in A&P.

My capacity for rote memorization is minimal. But i love a good story. I approach each system as a story to follow. I love knowing the hows and whys of anything and everything, and I am a very visual person, so I can "see" in my head what is happening physiologically. maybe those who have a harder time with the A&P II might find that looking at lots of pictures and even (this sounds silly but it helps) coloring in the A&P coloring book, as well as watching videos before you read the stories of physiology might help you retain it and even enjoy learning it.

rote memorization bites! BLEH!

Sorry, but the coloring books did NOTHING for me. I just had to read the text over and over and over again until I learned it. Suppose everyone is different...I know lots of people who loved those books.

twarlik,

did you try videos checked out at your school? i do know that some people learn better by audio/visuals and some by reading, but it doesn't sound as if the reading is easier for you. that must have been really frustrating for you. i commend your tenacity.

I didn't mean to suggest that I struggled through the class. I actually learn quite well using only the text. I only meant to say that I thought that the subject matter in A&P 2 was more complex than the material in A&P 1.

they r both hard
