Hello Everyone,

I live in Illinois and want to work and live in the SF Valley/Tarzana area. Can you help me get a job there, Im flying out to LA this month to look at apartments. Im hoping to have an interview then too. I have been visitng the websites and applying online. What else do you recommend.

Is there a place that the hospital recruitors look to elsewhere............somewhere I can post my resume?

Graduated 5/08, RN for 8 months in the ICU, ADN, BS in accounting, MS too.......funny how the ADN(1/30th the cost) is paying for the other two degrees:bugeyes:

Call the hospitals directly; don't assume that an online application will be enough to get your foot in the door. There are a lot of people looking to land jobs out here.

I'd hate to tell you this, but there's not a lot of jobs right now and a lot of competition. The economy in California is horrible. I am the only one in my nursing class to have a job at a hospital. I have friends still working at their old jobs as LVN's. Please ensure you have a job before you move here.

thanks for mentioning having a job before moving because i was pondering asking for a leave of absense and just moving there into a month to month apartment and hitting the pavement each day until i got a job.......

I still might do this but not until i atleast have my CA. RN license in hand. that ball is rolling tommarow morning.

Well, good luck, but really think that through. We're talking about new graduates from June 2008 who do not have jobs. Many hospitals are having hiring freezes. I don't know how far 8 months of experience will go. One nurse posted here with 3 years ICU although most recently her experience was NICU and OB, and has been unable to find a position. If you do some research and look at other posters who cannot find work, I would definitely reconsider the move until you have obtained a position.

The economy is rough.
