OK, I really feel like I am being thrown under the bus and I have no idea even why! Apparently a parent made some complaints to a nurse who USED TO work at my district, and rather than referring the parent to discuss the matter with myself, the principal or even health services, this nurse took it upon herself to call my boss' boss! I have never had any run-ins with this parent, and I talked to the teacher who is not aware of any medical issues or any complaints the parents have made either. My boss is even clueless as to what the problem is! She is going to call the parent and see what is going on, but I really feel like this former co-worker was way out of line to handle this the way she did. I don't even know this nurse! This is enough to make me consider looking into other districts, although I really love my school and have really good support from admin, but I want to be covered in case I am on the chopping block for something I am completely clueless about!

I don't know what to do!!! Other than to wait it out and see what the parent tells my boss. So frustrating! Someone remind me why I hate the hospital setting, quick!

She did not only went over my bosses head and the adm. but she went to my bosses boss who is the top person in health services. All of her complaints were irrelevant and thrown out, to say the lease. As long as you know you are doing your job I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

I had something like that happen with our secretary last year! She went over my head for a school policy that I was using, rather than just READ the policy, she went to my boss. After I confronted her, she got pretty ugly, and began to "forget" to give me much needed health information, paperwork, messages, etc. I then referred the issue to my principal- BIG MISTAKE. I was the one punished for the rest of the year for rocking the boat, and the secretary STILL does things like that to me. Fortunately that principal retired, which was great for all the staff- her mental illness was completely out of control by the end of the year. I went home exhausted, and in tears many days last year.

We are nurses, working in the education field. There is protocol that must be followed. Check your Board of Education Hanbook, there should be a GRIEVANCE and COMPLAINT Policy for all employees. From the information that you gave above, the policy was not followed correctly. It sounds like a major case of jealousy to me.

That is what I was thinking too, maybe she regrets leaving? But we still have openings so she could come back if she wanted, so I dunno if it was on good terms or not. I do not even know this nurse, which is what really bugs me. It is not as if I had some run in with her or she has some reason to have a grudge against me.

I have still not heard anything, but after asking around to some of the kiddos teachers I think the complaint might be about toileting, which is not something nursing handles in my district anyway. So I am really confused about how I got drug into this. We will see what happens. If I don't hear by tomorrow I am calling my boss Monday morning.
