I was wanting to know if anyone has any advise for people that fail it four times. It is the worst nightmare of my life. I have taken Kaplan and felt it really helped the third time I took it. I had 265 questions on the third time and I took the Nclex the next week after finishing Kaplan. After I failed the third time I got a private tutor. We did saunders questions and I feel that saunders questions aren't as hard as the actual NCLEX. Does anyone have any advise for me. Please email me if you do! Hi, I know how you feel, I have failed the last 3 times!! I will be retesting later this year, but I am considering a review class or doing Suzanne's plan. I just ordered the Saunder's Comprehensive review book. I will do her plan according to her suggestion and see how things go from there. I don't know how much patience you have but I am willing to give her plan a shot even if it means I have to wait till Sept or Oct, or even later to retest. I was also desperate but I am not giving up and you shouldn't either. Look into Suzanne's plan and see if it is something you can do. Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I am not going to give up! I have never been a quiter and I am not going to quit now. I have thought about doing that plan. I think right now I am going to give myself some toime to relax because I think I have gotten to the point I am trying to hard. I feel very over loaded. I am going to the beach on Friday and when I get back I am going to start over again. I also think that I am reading into the questions. Another question that I have is after I have taken it 4 times I feel that I can tell when the level of question drops and goes back up to a higher level question. Can you see that? I have got to quit worry about that too. Anyways any more advice I am open. Thanks!

Hi! I hope you have fun at the beach, relax and have a blast for me too! :) Yes at some points during the exam I can tell, especially when they get to more knowledge based, in one case I did. And then there were times when it seemed like I was getting the same question just repeated in different wording...weird. Anyway good luck to you, I have actually decided as of this morning to start Suzanne's plan, I read most of the sticy threads related to her plan and its a go for me!

I am going on my fifth time testing, so don't worry, you are not the only one.

I have noticed the level of easy going into difficulty and then dropping back down. By then my testing anxiety gets in the way, but not this time. I won't let it distract me.

I am more ready now because I have gained a larger amount of knowledge with the content from the Saunders book.

In the mean time, I test later this month. If I fail, I just have to pick the pieces back up again and re-test. I am not going to let NCLEX define me as a nurse. I came this far, so we all have to keep going.

I am following Suzanne's plan at this time. I have done ATI and Kaplan review. Those reviews helped me with the test taking strategies. Suzanne's plan really helps me in getting familiar with the content and gaining confidence with testing.

how many questions did you get the 1st couple times you took it?

115, 75, 265, 125 I feel like the third time I was right there. That was after I took Kaplan.

First of all DON't give up some people are just not good test takers but are great nurses. When I was in nursing school we used a web site called Medspub a lot. On that website they have several nclex review programs. They are not cheap but the questions on medspub are a lot harder than the nclex and i feel that they really helped me. here is the website if you are interested

Thanks! I am not a good test taker. I really truly believe that is all it is. I believe in my heart that I have the knowledge to pass the test I am just not a good test taker. Thanks for the website.

It's really hard, if not impossible, to predict if the questions are getting easier or harder. This is for two reasons.

1.) There are 15 questions on each test that do not count, and these 15 questions may all be considered "easy" to you, so you feel that you are doing poorly b/c you are getting easier questions, when in fact, this may not be true.

2.) The difficulty level of a question is based on statistical analysis of each question prior to it ever being put in the question bank. So, you may feel a particular question seems easy, but if stat. analysis shows that 50% of students miss that question, it is not an easy question.

Try your hardest to not think about the difficulty level of each question as you're going through the test. There are just too many variables to acurately predict how you're doing.
